Christine Hayley’s eclectic songwriting crosses many genres, mixing pop and adult contemporary with hints of blues, country and jazz.

Born and raised on Long Island, Christine began her musical journey at age 3.  The youngest of five children who all inherited their parents’ musical talents, Christine could often be found strolling the house singing “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head”, accompanied by nothing but pure exuberance.

Later, at the more sophisticated age of 6, her hands settled over the keys of the Baldwin grand in her family’s living room, a place from which everything else blossomed.  Her mother was her first piano teacher.  Then, after fifteen years of steady classical piano training with two highly regarded concert pianists, many evenings listening to opera, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Billy Joel and a few good years of life experiences, Christine began transforming her thoughts into songs that evoke heartfelt emotion, longing, sadness and humor.

It is her voice that many are drawn to.  At an early age, many recognized that Christine had been born with a natural ability to sing.  Both of her parents had studied opera and performed in summer stock theatre in the 1950’s before settling down on Long Island to raise their family.  Christine could be found singing in the chorus and onstage in musicals throughout her school years.  After high school, she received a B.S. Degree in Business Management from Long Island University’s C.W. Post College where she subsidized most of her educational expenses with music department scholarships.

Christine writes and performs primarily at the piano.  Her debut album Gone Fishin’ features stellar performances by numerous industry veterans including Richie Cannata, Schuyler Deale, Bernard Davis, Scott Brown, Gerardo Velez and Peter J. Romano.

Richie Cannata, best known for his musical contributions to many of Billy Joel’s hit albums, lends his phenomenal talent and energy to three of the album’s tracks.  Now touring with the Beach Boys, he is also President of Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, Long Island, where Gone Fishin’ was recorded and mixed.   Schuyler Deale, another Billy Joel alumnus, plays bass on all of the tracks and currently tours with Michael Bolton.  Bernard Davis (drums) and Scott Brown (keyboards) both tour with Patti Austin.  Gerardo Velez (percussion) has played with Jimi Hendrix, Spyro Gyra and Steve Winwood.  Peter J. Romano on electric and acoustic guitar, opened for Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive Tour” in the 70’s.  He is joined on the album by his son, Peter L. Romano, on lead guitar.  The background vocalist on “Love Train” is Kimberly Jones who tours with Patty Austin.

In addition to Gone Fishin’, Christine produced an album to raise funds for the victims of the WTC attacks.  Click on the “Six Thousand Stories” link for more information.
